Swans On Ice
Lots of images on this post! Early one Sunday morning in January my son & I headed out to photograph some swans at sunrise. The closer we got to the cost the colder it was getting, a balmy 15 degrees that morning. Since it was well below freezing the impoundment were the swans typically roost was almost completely frozen solid. It made for some interesting photo opportunities also quite comical! The swans would land on the ice and then slide several feet before coming to a stop.
Water space was limited and hot commodity, so when new swans landed in the water hole, fights broke out every few moments!
We drove around to the observation tower and Pungo lake was covered with hundreds of swans. The morning was crystal clear and the light was perfect for viewing & photography.
We had a great morning out in the field and came home with some fun memories and lots of photos!
Hope you enjoyed them and be sure to let me know which image was your favorite!
